This day at School where we had our Sankranthi Celebrations was a day full of warmth,happiness,fun.From the beginning of the day,we enjoyed ourselves a lot.So,we planned many activities for the celebration of this occasion.We all had to look traditional,feel traditional and be traditional on this day..... : D
It was kind of my friend,Sonali to lend me one of her half sarees for the celebration.Thanks Sonu...!
The day started with Agastya house's assembly where Sonali and I were the anchors.It was a superb assembly.After few hours,the celebration was to begin.The chief guest was our Revathi Mam.We greeted her
and she spoke few words.While the dance performances were going on, Pravalika,Sougandhika and myself started taking few betel leaves and bananas and gave it to all the female teachers as a part of the tradition.....It was enjoyable.As I am the head girl of my school,I had to give a vote of thanks with the head boy,Abheer.
There were the dance performances by the higher classes from 8th and 9th graders which was amazing.Then came the Bogi fire thingy.Its like we all have to dance together by holding our hands in a circular form around the Bhogi fire which was in the middle.As I am not much of fan of dance,I just didn't participate in the Bhogi Dance.... :C
It was lunch time then and we all were starving and were hungry as a bear.The suprising thing was that the high school students had to serve lunch to all the other class students......SHOCKING!
But....yeah,we did it!We served lunch for the rest of the students as guided by the teachers.At last,I had a peaceful time to have my lunch.The next part of the celebrations was the kite flying.But Sadly,the tenth graders which were us had to wrap up our celebration until the lunch.There was no
Kite flying part for us.So,I changed my dress and started with our math class..HURRAY!!
It was a fun day!!!
